The Easter Eggspress departs the Caledonian Railway in Brechin this Easter Weekend! With a total journey time of one hour (20 minutes each way), it is the ideal treat that the whole family can enjoy! Each passenger will receive an Easter treat from one of our friendly volunteers whilst on board the train.
Take a trip on our steam train and receive a chocolate egg from our helpful volunteers whilst you travel. Trains for this service depart from both Brechin and Bridge of Dun stations. Please take careful note of the train time you book and the station it departs from.

Miniature Railway Rides (FREE)
Take a trip on our very own miniature railway located on Platform One. Please note that the miniature railway rides are weather permitting.
Brakevan Rides (FREE)
Enjoy a ride in our newly restored LMS brakevan "Phoenix" located on Platform 1 at Bridge of Dun station.
Easter Competition (FREE)
Take part in our Easter Egg competition to be in with a chance of winning a FAMILY ticket of one of our Day Out With Thomas events this summer. Entry forms will be available on the day from the main hall at Brechin station.
Buffets and Gift Shop
On platform one at Brechin Station, we have a Buffet serving hot & cold food and drinks (unfortunately, we are unable to take credit/debit cards here). The buffet will be open from 10:30am to 4:00pm. Also on platform one is our gift shop which will be open from 10:30am to 4:00pm. The shop and Brechin ticket office can take credit/debit cards.
At Bridge of Dun station, the buffet car will be open serving a small selection of snacks and drinks. The classic bus service arrives at this station. The childrens play area will also be available next to our small car park.
Walks Around Bridge of Dun
The Angus countryside is magnificent at this time of year and at Bridge of Dun station you have the choice to extend your visit to include a walk to Montrose Basin Local Nature Reserve to see the local wildlife – pick up one of our free “Walks From Bridge of Dun” leaflet from one of our leaflet racks.

How long does the train journey last for?
Journey time between stations is 20 minutes. A return journey lasts around 1 hour.
What is an Open Return/One Way ticket?
OPEN RETURN: This allows travel from your origin station at the time specified on the ticket to the other station and then return on any train time. You may return on the next available train or wait for later departures - the choice is up to you.
ONE WAY: This allows travel from your origin station at the time specified on the ticket to the other station only.
How do I buy tickets?
Tickets can be booked in advance by following the ticket links for the desired date (on mobile, please scroll to the bottom of the page) or by calling 0333 666 3366. Once you have completed your booking, you will receive a confirmation email and an e-ticket. E-ticket's can be presented either on a mobile phone, tablet or in printed form. If you do not receive your e-ticket, please check your spam folder before contacting us.
Tickets may also be purchased on the day at Brechin Station but are subject to availability. To avoid disappointment please book in advance. Online bookings are taken up to one hour before departure.
Tickets do not need to be shown at Ticket Office on the day - they will be inspected on the train. If travelling with family or friends why not book as one booking as this will reduce the booking fee.
