The Easter Eggspress departs the Caledonian Railway this Easter Weekend! Each passenger will receive an Easter treat from one of our friendly volunteers whilst on board the train.

Note: 10:15 and 16:15 services are diesel hauled. 16:15 is one way.

What is an Open Return/One Way ticket?

OPEN RETURN: This allows travel from your origin station at the time specified on the ticket to the other station and then return on any train time. You may return on the next available train or wait for later departures - the choice is up to you.

ONE WAY: This allows travel from your origin station at the time specified on the ticket to the other station only.

How long does the train journey last for?

Journey time between stations is 20 minutes, with a 15 minute stop off at both stations. A return journey lasts around 1 hour.

Basin Rambler Bus Service (FREE)

Why not make it a full day out by taking advantage of the FREE Classic Bus Service operating between our Bridge of Dun station, the House of Dun, Montrose Air Station Heritage Centre, Montrose High Street & Railway Station.

Miniature Railway Rides (FREE)

Take a trip on our very own miniature railway located on Platform One. Please note that the miniature railway rides are weather permitting.

Walks Around Bridge of Dun

The Angus countryside is magnificent at this time of year and at Bridge of Dun station you have the choice to extend your visit to include a walk to Montrose Basin Local Nature Reserve to see the local wildlife – pick up one of our free “Walks From Bridge of Dun” leaflet from one of our leaflet racks.
